British and French government
plans to share the carriers, while the pressure on the British army to reduce
costs, the Times reported on Tuesday. The prime minister, David Cameron, and
French President Nicolas Sarkozy, is expected to announce the proposal at a
summit in November, the New York Times, citing an unnamed source in the British
navy. No immediate comment was available from British officials. But a joint
press conference to be held on Friday. Earlier this month, a Defense Ministry
source said Britain would cancel one or two of his companies new plans to
reduce costs, if there were no plans to reverse the country's nuclear
deterrent. The French proposal, it would be easier for Britain to exclude or disqualify a replacement of the two carriers
under construction.
The newspaper said the proposal
would result in one of three ships - one French and two British - would still
be patrolling the seas. "Use some of the other carriers will require
decisions at the strategic level, so that national targets on a given
transaction would be the same," the military source was quoted as saying.
The defense is to implement a complete overhaul of Britain's future military requirements and means to ensure the
ability to cheaply.
