Sharp Corp has told it will begin selling it is 3-D LCD TVs
in Europe in former Sep.
It plans to establish 46-inch and 60-inch models of Aquos
Quattron 3-D serial on its advanced four-color LCD panel technology in such
European countries as Britain
and Germany,
the Osaka-based company said yesterday.
Awaited market value are not usable. Challenger amongst 3-D
TV makers in Europe is likely to be intense with the
entry of Sharp, as Sony Corp, Panasonic Corp and South
Korea's Samsung Electronics Co among others
have already introduced their 3-D TVs in the market.
Sharp, meanwhile, announced that it has concluded a
sponsorship contract with the Union of European Football Association as "a
EUROTOP partner" to become a top-graded official sponsor company for the
governing body of football in Europe, with the aim of
enhancing its brand awareness and promoting sales of its LCD TVs and other
products.
Under the sponsorship deal effective from Aug 31 through the
end of 2013, whose value was not unveiled, Sharp becomes the exclusive partner
of audio-visual equipment and solar-related products for the upcoming
quadrennial event of UEFA's flagship national team rivalry taking place in
Poland and Ukraine in the summer of 2012.
With desegregated broadcast sponsorship rights in Europe,
Sharp will launch various football-led marketing campaigns and provide UEFA
with leading edge audio-visual products and solutions to help deliver best in
class national team competitions, according to UEFA.
