PM evince personal interest for new airport

When the criteria for early settlement of long pending before the Navi Mumbai airport project, said Prime Minister on Friday to investigate the matter resolves the problem quickly.

Chavan said the Mumbai airport, currently handling 26 million passengers each year and the flow of traffic is to add 45 million to 119 million passengers in 2014-15 and 2031-1932.

Dodge the question whether the approach to the environment minister Jairam Ramesh had been posing as a problem of Maharashtra, said he had three meetings with the minister and the government was willing to do what is necessary to protect the environment, but go ahead with the project.

Chavan and Rane rejected the request of the Shiv Sena that the Congress the urgency of Navi Mumbai airport when some party leaders have taken the land adjacent to the proposed project.

"There is no private land near the project," said the chief minister.
